As you say, many references are now archaic and I did wonder how I would talk about the use of the word "Negro." I think my oldest is still too young to grapple with the issue in total. (He's just becoming more aware of things like that and we're JUST starting to talk about it.) Therefore I think I'd hold off on this book for another year or two.
