It was not a name of respect. Jackson's troops, aided by Cherokee scouts who soon regretted their aid, crushed the Red Stick Creeks at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, which killed more First People than any other battle in US history. More than anyone, he was responsible for the Trail of Tears.

Good riddance indeed. jochanaanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14143066702059757955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4051826042602269061.post-65018389814189899062016-04-21T12:21:03.981-07:002016-04-21T12:21:03.981-07:00Oh yeah, there would be a LOT of pearl clutching a...Oh yeah, there would be a LOT of pearl clutching about Eleanor.

Ironic, though, how many of those I know who hate FDR wouldn't give up one cent of their Social Security, and in many cases have benefited greatly from other New Deal programs.
Diary of an Autodidacthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11849157548643091986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4051826042602269061.post-9698789786107341332016-04-21T04:08:54.117-07:002016-04-21T04:08:54.117-07:00Just to clarify, I wouldn't have a problem wit...Just to clarify, I wouldn't have a problem with putting Eleanor Roosevelt on a bill, I'm just saying why other people would.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4051826042602269061.post-15692916230986537932016-04-21T04:06:57.269-07:002016-04-21T04:06:57.269-07:00No, I would have expected people to freak about he...No, I would have expected people to freak about her because of her connection to FDR. Destroying America with welfare, big government, the New Deal, you know the drill. Plus there are apparently lingering rumors of her being romantically involved with another woman at some point, so that would cause a big ruckus ("The LGBT agenda's even taken over our money!", etc.).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4051826042602269061.post-76103958282127235772016-04-20T19:49:16.768-07:002016-04-20T19:49:16.768-07:00Yeah, that is weird. I was really, really hoping that helping to end slavery would be mostly politically neutral by now. It's not like they went with Gloria Steinem or something.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
